Travel Log Photos
The intent of my travel log is to keep each of you, my loyal readers...lookers...lurkers (whatever you are), informed as to what, and where, I am currently photographing during the year. Whenever possible I like to "target" a species, as I get better results when I focus on one species at a time. That's a required approach if I am looking for a specific photo, such as bull Caribou, in breeding colors, with fall colors as a background! There are other times though there are so many species in a small area that I am like a kid in the candy store! Places such as Kruger National Park in South Africa during the spring, or Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado during the fall, or central Florida during the winter. Places such as those offer dozens of species in a small area. However, for the most part I am an opportunistic photographer (all that means is, let me go outside and play!). There's always a critter for me to photograph.

Silver Fox, Washington, USA
7 November 2015. My wife, Kim, and I celebrated our 40th anniversary by spending a few days of the first week of November on San Juan Island in Washington. Forty years is something to celebrate and I was doubly happy to celebrate on San Juan Island as parts of the island have fairly concentrated populations of both the red and silver color phases of the species commonly called Red Fox. A fact that noted photographer Catherine Diehl-Robbins pointed out to me, which helped make the decision to visit that part of the world only to easy.
If you would like to see more photos of Silver Foxes go to "Galleries" then "Mammals" then "Foxes" and finally "Silver Foxes". You'll find more photos there.
