Southern (Eastern) Copperhead
The Copperhead is a common snake in the southeastern United States. Common, nervous, and poisonous. It's those characteristics that cause most people to take care when playing and working in the woodlands in that part of the world. Woodlands are the Copperheads' preferred habitat; rodents it's preferred prey. Though the Copperhead does us a great job controlling rodents, that fact is usually over-looked when most human residents of the southeastern U.S. meet-up with a Copperhead. The snake loses ... everything, almost every time.
