Porcupines
Porcupines. Quill Pigs. Whatever you call them these slow-moving rodents, they are always fascinating to watch. When traveling a straight line the ground their whole body rolls, like a ship at sea, with each leg lift. When climbing a tree they do so deliberately, always making their quills are not bent backwards. And when they are on the hunt for a mate, the males walk along blindly grunting like a pig! Fascinating to watch, a pain to touch...which most dogs just have to do! The odd thing about dogs and porcupines is that dogs can't seem to get enough! I have seen hounds quilled three times in a week. It's as if they get a "mad on". For us "higher beings", looking is usually good enough.
