I photographed these Rocky Mountain Mule Deer bucks as they fed in the late afternoon heat along the slopes of Mt. Charleston; outside Las Vegas, Nevada. It was tough to get a clear photo of these deer as they were feeding through an steep area which had been slash cut, which leaves debris everywhere. Opening the brush allows new growth, grasses, and forbs to sprout; all of which attract deer.
