Calves, New Borns
Mid-May never comes quick enough here in the North...especially for me. May means I am long tired of the winter, and am anxiously awaiting calving season. Who doesn't want to see the first calves of the year hit the ground!? Their arrival announces another year in the cycle of life, and that I made it through another winter! A cycle that I too have become part of, just by being here each and every spring to see another crop of Moose calves.

I found this new-born calf Moose not far from the house, while on a walk with my wife and dogs. The cow promptly stormed the dogs, but ignored me. The calf wasn't too bothered by the commotion as it curled up on the forest floor, then promptly went to sleep!
