Calves, First Summer
By fall the new born calves of May take on the look of the adults, though it will be spring before that great long head with the bulbous nose fully develops. The easy days of summer have came to an end, and the fall rut is beginning. Though young-of-the-year Moose do not normally breed, they are confused and nervous due to the antics of the adult Moose. Most yearlings stand back, and just stay out of the way!
