Hoary Marmots
Marmots, Rock Chucks, Whistle Pigs...whatever you call them in your neck-of-the-woods...make rock piles and hillsides come alive. Their constant activity and their vocal nature attracts a variety of predators here in Alaska. That, and their plumpness make them a favored food of many mountain dwelling predators such as Grizzlies, Golden Eagles, and Wolverines.
