Gray Fox
The Gray Fox is found from southern Canada to northern South America. At one time it was the dominant fox across much of the United States. The Red Fox has taken that title, at least in the eastern United States as they "like" humans better than the Gray. Thankfully the Gray is still found through much of North America. They can be a bit hard to locate but once found are usually approachable. What surprises many is to see them in trees! Yes trees. This species has strong hooked claws and thinks nothing of climbing a tree. Especially one with a bird nest or ripe fruit!
