Bobcats
This little wildcat is found over much of North America. In the not to distant past thirteen sub-species were recognized. Today only two distinct sub-species are recognized, those that live east of the Great Plains and those that live west of the Great Plains. Whichever one you get to see count yourself lucky as these cats may be common across much of North America however it is uncommon to see one!

This young Bobcat just finished drinking from the canal behind him, and was headed to cover across the dirt track in front of him. Lucky? I like to think I made my luck by getting up at "O'dark thirty" then getting into the field. Of course it doesn't hurt to be in the right place at the right time! That's luck!
