Musk Ox, Cows and Calves
Though Muskox look like small Bison (or more commonly "Buffalo" to us North Americans), they are actually more closely related to Sheep and Goats! However, I still think of them as small Buffalo not only because of their looks but also because of their nature. Like Buffalo, Muskox are placid for the bulk of the year. However they are a different animal when in the rut! Like Buffalo bulls, the Muskox bulls paw the ground, head-butt, and bellow during the rut. And like Buffalo, Muskox will get you in a second! They might look slow, but they are far from it. Never get close to a rutting bull or a cow with a small calf, unless you have a tree to climb! Since there are no trees on the North Slope don't get too close!
