Bears About Town

Alaska is famous for it's Bears. However most forget they are also found in our cities and towns, not just out at Mc Neil River and Brooks Falls! The photos here are of Bears being Bears alongside Humans.

I "caught" this Brown Bear crossing the highway just outside Valdez, Alaska. He caught me by surprise by swapping ends and coming for me at a fast pace just as I exited my Excursion. Needless to say the image quality is a little "shaken"! It's hard to photograph over one's shoulder as you are diving for the safety of the rig!
