Eurasian Collared-Dove
Eurasian Collared-Doves made their way to North America in the early and mid-1980s via the Bahamas, where they were kept as pets. From there the birds spread to Florida, and now occur over most of North America. This rapid colonization was aided by our forested cities and numerous bird feeders, a habitat and a food source that the Collared-Dove made great use of!
