This is the brightly marked forest sparrow whose call is so often described as "Oh-Sweet-Canada". These birds often sing that welcome song throughout the year, yes even on their wintering grounds! Now something you might not know ..Although they look nothing alike and aren’t particularly closely related, the White-throated Sparrow and the Dark-eyed Junco occasionally mate and produce hybrids! Go figure that one out!
