The Summer Tanager is, at least to me, one of our most beautiful birds. It is for certain North America's only totally red bird. The Summer Tanager is also known as the Bee Bird due to it's fondness for bees and wasps. The Tanagers are my favorite group of birds as they are common (at least in distribution), they are colorful, and there are a large number of species here in the Americas.
