Savannah Sparrow
The Savannah Sparrow is found from the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, to Mexico and Guatemala. Sixteen subspecies are recognized, each slightly different in coloration and song. When this many subspecies forms it usually means each subspecies is faithful to their native area. The crazy thing is this bird does not breed in the southeastern US, and is only an infrequent visitor to Savannah, Georgia, from which it's name is derived!
