Dark-eyed Junco
The Dark-eyed Junco is one of the most common birds in North America as it is found from Alaska to Mexico, and from California to New York. However Dark-eyed Juncos prefer the northern latitudes, and higher elevations in the southern part of their range. Since most people in the lower States see these birds during the winter, the Junco is oft called the "Snowbird".
