Found in the eastern US and northeastern Mexico this species forms life-long pairs, and do not leave their territory. Both male and female defend the home turf year-round. In the spring the center of their territory is the nest, which, like most wrens, may be built in a coat pocket, a shoe, or on top of a propane tank! Whenever these guys settle in your yard welcome them. They will soon become active members of your family!
