Wood Stork
The Wood Stork is a large wading bird of the southeastern United States, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. This subtropical/tropical species nests in but four of the U.S. states which are Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. It is the only stork which currently nests in the United States.

on December 14, 2022I don't normally display photos of animals which are headed away, especially in the harsh light of a bright day, but I could not resist this photo. The direction of travel and the bright light is exactly why one can see the light through these Wood Storks' wings.
