Mew Gulls
The small Mew Gull, or Common Gull as they are know in northern Eurasia, has a limited range in North America. Here they are found in the very northwestern part of the continent; western Canada and Alaska. With distance and time, our Mew Gulls are now a sub-species of the gull found in the north of Europe and Asia, making them an American bird.

Mew Gull chicks are like any other chick, they are always on the look-out for their next meal. I don't know if this chick saw me as a possible meal supplier, or as a meal, but I stayed my distance. One should not interfere with any young animal as the parent is most likely close by.
