The Lesser Canada Goose is a well-known inhabitant of south-central and central Alaska. So well known this sub-species is considered a pest by many Alaskans! I must admit these birds are a noisy, messy, garrulous, and gregarious species (whew!), yet I welcome them as they arrive in the spring, and watch with enviable, saddened eyes as they flock together then head south for the winter!
